Our Day, Described Briefly

Thursday, November 6, 2008

Played with the babies this morning; took a quick nap while Aunt Julie watched Sesame Street with Henry and Eleanor.

Babies took a two-and-a-half hour nap this afternoon! Should’ve woken up all happy and chipper, right? Uh, wrong. Lots of whining and arguing ensued.

Took a break from whining and went outside to play. How 'bout this weather, huh? Babies had fun picking up sticks and waving them at various objects around the yard. Our neighbor graciously loaned us a toy wheelbarrow with rake, hoe, and shovel. Henry and Eleanor “helped” me make a pile of leaves, which we rolled around in and threw leaves into the air. Baby fights broke out over usership of wheelbarrow; Mommy had to intervene and take it away when it became obvious that sharing wasn’t going to occur.

Henry was sitting at the table tonight and started making his “I’m going to the bathroom” face. Andy asked him, “Henry, are you pooping?” Henry replied, “Yeah.”

Andy and I raided Henry and Eleanor’s Halloween candy for some peanut-containing items that we knew we wouldn’t let them eat. Andy remarked, “This is the first time I have actually stolen candy from a baby.”
