Flesworthy Family Fun: Zoo Boo

Thursday, October 22, 2009

On Sunday we visited Zoo Boo, an annual Halloween celebration held at, obviously, the zoo.

We had a great afternoon with our little chickens. I had debated whether to dress them the same this year, but I admittedly enjoyed the twin-based attention they received from their matching costumes. Henry and Eleanor were fired up to get candy, although they would walk up to each trick-or-treating station and mutely hold out their bags; we couldn’t ever coax them into saying “trick or treat.” We strolled around the whole zoo, enjoying the other costumes, decorations and the animals.

An interesting moment with the lions, who are usually lounging in the distance:

Darn, I can’t get the fence out of focus. Let me just adjust…

Oh. Hello.

Please don’t be hungry for chicken.

I’ve never been a foot from a lion before, unless you count my high school mascot. Very exciting! Roar!

It was a beautiful sunny candy-filled day and a great family activity that we’ll hopefully add to our fall traditions.

we were planning on going this afternoon - but it looks like the weather might be a bust. Looks like you all had fun!
